Wish List 2025
Hello! I kind of fell off there for a bit. Haven’t really had much to talk about and there’s just been too much to do both video game wise and real life wise. I just bought a handful of games on the Steam sale that I’d like to play, playing Silksong, Helldivers, Legion Remix just started, Pokemon Legends coming out soon (at time of writing), Metroid in a month or two right? Fuck me. So I’ll do the usual, start with my favorite wants from the past and some updates on if there’s been anything that’s come out that I kind of wanted.
So. 2D Monster Hunter fighting game, Waifu Division, Power Rangers VS Street Fighter and my new favorite ideas; Power Rangers Mosou/Warriors game and Pokemon/Expedition 33. Aside from that I had mentioned wanting a game kind of like Delicious in Dungeon where you have to cook food as you go sort of thing, not only do you collect weapon and armor from mobs but you have to collect food items as well. There is a game I got called Cusineer where you travel around an island or something and collect ingredients and then go back home and run a restaurant. I like it, it is cute but I don’t know how to progress, I’m pretty stuck at the beginning of the game. I haven’t really sat down with it to figure out the game but it seems fun so maybe one day. I had mentioned before wanting some kind of anime ass tank game (I thought I did, maybe I didn't? Can't find any mention of it, must've deleted it. Real quick: anime ass tank game. Girls und Panzer but cranked up to 11.) and this summer World of Tanks showed off a trailer for Heat. It looks really cool but it’s also a hero shooter so I’m probably not going to play it but it does look sick as hell. Alright on to the other things, not too many this year I think.
Just a quick mention maybe. I’ve been in a cyberpunk mood so I’ve been playing 2077 and watching Ghost in the Shell and wanting to watch Ergo Proxy after. I don’t know if Ergo Proxy is considered cyberpunk but I really love the start to that show. I love Re-l going around and investigating things and I wish there was more of that and it kind of looked like that’s how the Perfect Dark reboot or whatever was going to be but then they cancelled it. That really sucks.
This COULD happen, MAYBE, I doubt it but it’d be cool. I’d like to see a Tony Hawk style, Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom skating game. Inspired by this image, it just would be pretty fucking cool. Maybe if they wanted to go the extra mile for a more in game “lore accurate” reason they could do a Shaun Palmer kind of shield surfing game instead where the levels are just down hill and there’s various places you can stop at to get taking back to the top of the level. Unless they could find a way to make the level flow in such a way that you could keep your momentum and go around the level on your shield. But a Zonai skateboard/hoverboard also would make sense. So whatever, do both. Do both level designs, each character can have a shield and a skateboard they customize and whatever type of level you’re on determines what you ride. I think skating on the dragons would be cool, like the earlier picture. Terry Town, the sky islands, Zora’s Domain, any of the divine beasts. As for the characters you’d have your usuals; Link, Zelda, the various champions, old Impa, young Purrah, Adult Purrah, put Linkle in there, she needs to be in more things. Fuck it, put Lana and Cia from Hyrule Warriors also in there, maybe some Kid Icarus characters as unlockables/secrets. Dehydrated Ganon. It would be cool as hell.
In probably other various posts I’ve mentioned Helldivers seems like something pretty obvious to make clones of. The obvious one would have been Halo’s ODSTs or maybe a remade Spartan Ops but since there’s now an ODST crossover in Helldivers 2 I’m assuming that will never happen. I can see a Crackdown version, Psi-Ops and even Sucker Punch. I have Drifters on my reminder list too, I can only assume it was for the anime but I don’t think it quite fits. Maybe for more of a Warriors game. OH the Suicide Squad anime would make a good Warriors game too! Anyway, back on track, back on track. Crackdown could be a little ridiculous, like maybe your agent levels up so you can’t exactly do the harder missions right off the bat but once you level up you can jump real high, throw cars, and obviously the enemy density varies depending on difficulty. Psi-Ops could be interesting too, just lean real hard into the psychic powers. The more I talk the more these just sound like Warriors games though. Is Helldivers a Warriors game? I think the one that resembles Helldivers the most in my mind is Sucker Punch. I think being sent to a medieval battle field with machine guns fighting hordes of knights or orcs with swords and axes looks just like fighting a bunch of Terminids to me. Oh maybe that’s what the Drifters reference was for; like going to different time periods, like the movie. Medieval, fantasy times, steampunk Nazi times, future robot times. They really could do and go wherever, I just think fighting a bunch of sword wielding knights with an M4 would be really fun.
The
more Monster Hunter games I play the more I’m kind of tired of the weapons.
Every game they have to change up the moves a bit to make it fresh and
interesting but at the end of the day it’s still a sword, it’s still a giant
hammer. I like the weirdo weapons, gunlance, insect glaive, the charge blade,
even though I can’t use it. I just would like more oddball weapons in games.
People were saying the third demon hunter spec in WoW should have been
something like a bard to go with the K-pop Demon Hunters movie which, yeah
that’s weird, sure do that do. Final Fantasy 14 I think has a paintbrush weapon
or something. Lost
I think they could make a John Wick game if it played like Splinter Cell Conviction. Mark enemies, do a melee takedown to be able to execute marked enemies, environmental things to mess with. Could be a certain challenge for missions or rooms or whatever to see how long you can chain mark and executes. I don’t know, I don’t think there’s much to talk about as far as this goes, I feel like it’s relatively self-explanatory.
That’s that I suppose. Not too many ideas this year, nothing I’m really wishing were to be true. Maybe the Zelda skateboarding game, that would be cool. I just want more strange things, more genre crossovers. Maybe it’s just an age thing that I’ve seen the typical, usual things that if a new game comes out with these same elements I’m not really going to be interested unless it does something unique. So yeah. This is kind of early I think but oh well. What do you think? Anything you’d like to see in the future? Any of my ideas pique your interest? Let me know below and I’ll be back sometime maybe! Bye-bye.
