Valkyria Chronicles, Metroid Prime 4
Hello! I don’t really want to be writing this because I have so many games to play and some actual motivation to do it but I just wanted to get this out there. While I was waiting for Metroid Prime 4 I was looking at my games that I haven’t finished and came across Valkyria Chronicles 4.
Before I get into that I’ll talk a little about what I have played of Metroid so far. I’m glad that motion controls are a thing, like the Wii, but I don’t understand why no one could tell me if the game had these controls before it came out. All they talked about in the trailers was normal controls, using a Joy-Con like a mouse and having motion if you held ZL. I asked YouTubers that went to events, commented on videos but no one could just tell me that Wii motion controls were a thing. It’s nice that I don’t have to worry about a sensor bar when using these controls; I can have my legs crossed and the controller in my lap and still play. The only issue I have is that the centering of the reticle sometimes, usually after scanning things the pointer might not be center and the only way I can recenter it is going into the map, point at the screen and get out of the map. Not a huge problem but. I changed some of the controls because it was awkward. I think jump was mapped to B but shooting is A so I couldn’t shoot and jump/strafe at the same time? No, no, no. I changed jump to R, missiles to B, that’s been good. Ever since Titanfall I’ve become a “bumper jumper.” It is just easier to keep movement momentum when you can keep both your thumbs on the sticks and still be able to jump.
So when I started Valkyria Chronicles 4 it said the last time I played was five years ago, damn. I was near the end of the story when I stopped so I just looked online as how to do these last few missions quickly. I had to go back and make some money and upgrade some weapons before I could complete these last two missions but it was fine. It would’ve taken me a very long time to do those missions on my own. But I really do like Valkyria Chronicles, they’re some of my favorite games in this genre. It surprises me that Fire Emblem gets so much love and has so many games but VC doesn’t get that many releases. I like fighting in the villages and towns, once you actually get to the Valkyria parts of it, it can get complicated. I like positioning my units and letting the enemy come to me and get caught in the crossfire. I love the ragdolling in the game also, they’re so funny. I find it funny that I’m still kind of a Sega kid but the Sega games don’t do as well as Nintendo’s versions or whatever. Maybe because of that they don’t have the resources to just do whatever they want like Nintendo but, I don’t know, I’d like more Valkyria Chronicles. I might dick around in VC4 here and there, do some early missions or skirmishes.
That being said, they must be working on a new Smash game right? I still would love a Nintendo VS Sega Smash and I think it’s just perfect to have the similar games go head to head you know? Sonic VS Mario, Fire Emblem VS Valkyria Chronicles, Samus VS Vectorman, as tiny as he is, they could make him bigger! I can’t imagine they would actually do Nintendo VS Sega but it would be cool…
So, what’re your thoughts? How are you playing Metroid Prime 4? What’re your thoughts on Valkyria Chronicles? I would really like 2 to get a remaster, or I could go back in time and not get rid of my PSP and that game. Do you think they’re working on Smash? Is it close to being done? Is it going to be more of the same? Let me know your thoughts down below and I’ll be back some time, bye-bye!
