A Real NEW Pokemon!

Image
Oh my God! They did a thing! This is as close to what I wished for in my first wish list post  as it could get! Pokemon Legends Arceus. It looks good. It looks like everything I’ve wanted and suggested over the years. This is probably gonna be short but let’s talk about what we can.             I’m so glad to see that Pokemon actually go up to each other and do their moves. I never got to play Stadium and when I came across Battle Revolution I just had to get it but I was disappointed that the Pokemon still did their moves like they did on the handhelds. I expected when Scyther did double team there would be several of them, like the anime, like Naruto’s shadow clones, but no. Ponyta doing bounce and then standing in the air on the next turn, that was upsetting. So this is a good, this is a positive, I’m pleased for now.       ...

Welcome to Stealth-Action... With Crafting!

Image
Is nothing sacred anymore? Just watched the new trailer for Oddworld Soulstorm and ou baby, is it something. Oddworld Inhabitants took something so interesting and so unique and turned it into another stealth-action-with-crafting game. Stealth action used to refer to stealth being the source of the entertainment, like the old Splinter Cell games. “ Stealth action redefined .” Now it just refers to the fact you CAN stealth but you COULD be an action movie star. Developers use it as a giant net to try and catch as many peoples interest as possible but I find in most cases the games come across as lacking. I understand everyone needs to make a buck. I mean, it’s too bad more people don’t like stealth games or lack the patience but. I love when games do so much with so little. Soulstorm might be really good. Who knows; everyone in the comments was real excited about what they were seeing. It will be nice to see more of the Oddworld creatures and locales. I feel very few games get ...

Smash Roster Cuts

Image
I started this thinking of just trimming up the Smash roster and add some other characters here and there but I think it’s just going to end up being a big mess of add-ons to the roster. We made a video some years ago about this but with my last post I just thought I’d add more. I don’t share Sakurai’s thoughts about keeping all of the characters because any character could be someone’s favorite. I think there should be like a core group of fighters that always appear but then certain fighters that only show up in one game and then gets rotated out. Soul Calibur does it a lot; Vader, Ezio, ect. I don’t know how long it’ll be before the next Smash but Nintendo X Sega could always happen; it’s just a fun spin off, nothing big. Ahaha, haha-ha. * nudge nudge *         Maybe it’ll be easier to go through this by franchise. As of writing this we still have three DLC characters to be revealed. It bothers me that the characters in t...

Nintendo X Sega Smash Bros.

Image
As the title says, I figured I’d talk a little about what characters could appear for Sega in my Nintendo X Sega Smash Bros. game. Now I don’t claim to know every franchise Sega has to offer. This is a relatively short list of characters and games that I like and that I would like to see. Sega has made and published a TON of games so there is no shortage of characters they could pull from for this fictional game.             First I think for however many Mario characters there are in the game there should be an equal number of Sonic characters. Knuckles, Tails, Amy, the hot bat girl, Shadow, the crocodile guy… Vex! That’s the one. Robotnic, the armadillo guy in Sonic Mania, just make it even basically. One of my favorites growing up was Vectorman, would love to see him. Oh! I had a whole scenario of how he’s introduced too. This would be assuming it was a cut scene similar to the ones during the Subspace Embassy. Samus wou...

Top 5 3DS Games

Image
What’s going on everybody? The guys over at Nintendo Life each made a video about their favorite Switch games to date and as I was watching it I thought “know what? I’m gonna make a list of my favorite 3DS games” so here we are. I really love the 3DS and obviously the 3D of it. I don’t know how it works, it’s voodoo as far as I’m concerned but it’s so fucking neat. I feel like there will be nothing gaming hardware related that’s going to blow me away like that again. From what I’ve heard most people don’t like the 3D but I typically don’t like what most people do like and vice versa. I’m sure it was a pain in the ass to develop with but I liked it. These aren’t in any particular order, I really didn’t feel like trying to find a hierarchy of these and hem and haw about what I liked more, except for the last one. That is defiantly my favorite 3DS game. Was gonna do this in video form but my interest in such things ...

Hard Mode V.2

Image
Years ago I watched an anime called Bakuman . It’s basically an anime that follows two characters who work on a manga together. At one point they get writers block and are having a hard time deciding where to go with their story. They get the idea that they should read their fan mail and maybe get an idea or suggestion from the letters. The two come up with a story they thought would work and showed it to their editor. The editor takes one look and says something like “what is this!?” The two tell him that they used some fan suggestions and he comes back with something along the lines of “never use what fans say. No one ever knows what they want.” I always think about that when I write my own suggestions in my blogs or when developers say thinks like “ we took thecommunity’s feedback. ” or “we listened and we learned.” That always results in an eye roll from me. Must be why Ubisoft thought we liked paying money for basic...

Cyberpunk 2077

Image
Hello. I’m done my first play through with Cyberpunk 2077 and @NEETproxy is on his second character so I think I have enough information to start this. The world of Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t quite what I was hoping for. I’ve been watching a lot of cyberpunk/dystopian movies lately to refresh my memory of what I think of when I think cyberpunk. I agree with William Gibson’s 2018 tweet of "The trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 strikes me as GTA skinned-over with a generic 80s retro-future." Not that there’s exactly anything wrong with it, it is a fine game as is and I do like types of games but it is not what I expected. The game definitely feels more like Elysium then anything else.             So the game follows the typical, stealth/action with crafting to try and please as many people as possible. Like, I get why companies do it but it always just seems to turn out shitty in one way or anoth...
