WoW Times 9
Hello. More WarCraft. I’ve been playing Midnight and I’d rather be doing that right now, I really want to get my first character to 90 so I can move on. So let’s just start with giving players buff Trolls. Actually, first of all, I think Blizzard needs more devs on WoW with the different versions they have out, things they are working on, player character meshing with armor correctly, and various other things. And I mean I don’t know, I don’t know how big the team is but with all the things mentioned above plus all the different aspects of the game and players wanting new character models for various reasons I just think they need more devs. So anyway, buff Trolls. With the new Amani Trolls we do quest for, people are once again hoping that we can get Amani Trolls as an allied race or at least an option for the Darkspear Trolls. Now I have to stop everyone right there because the buff Trolls are not Amani specific, all the Troll races have buff Trolls as well as skinny, scraggily ones. WarCraft 3 had Troll berserkers and batriders, they were buff. Yes, I would like buff Trolls but there’s no reason they have to be “Amani” specifically. The other thing is that I don’t really enjoy the Amani models for Midnight. They’re too Orc-y to me, especially in the face. I like the way they looked back in the Burning Crusade. If we were to get the option for Troll berserkers I would hope they would look more like TBC models and maybe that's just what the option in the character creator is; berserker yes/no.
Also, since I’m on the topic of player models and what not I remember thinking at the time it would be cool to be the bison Tauren of Northrend and when I had heard we were getting more Tauren I figured it was them and was confused when we got the Highmountains. They’re just regular Tauren with antlers instead of horns. Traveling to Northrend in more recent years and doing some quest up there I was reacquainted with the Tanuka and realized also that their women are just regular female Tauren. It was a little strange, I mean I guess I get it but. But that’s the thing with a lot of the Horde women, they kind of don’t have anything unique going on. Female Orc and Trolls stand exactly the same, at a glance I probably wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. Even the Haranir now, you can basically make them look like an orc, troll or elf, who cares, it doesn’t matter anymore. Tauren women as well are just very upright, probably have the same skeleton as the Orc and Troll women. It’s just, I don’t know, maybe the characters just need a little update is all.
So in preparation for not getting Troll berserker options, I have made a Troll monk because it was kind of the closest class to what I was looking for, I guess. They throw flammable liquids, breath fire, he would just be better if he was a berserker. Also it’s the only other class besides shaman and priest that I’ve been messing around with and not hating. That being said it’s like we have to use a little imagination with our class/race combos. Even though I’m playing a monk I’m not playing a “monk,” you know? It’s like with the different types of paladins, Tauren and Blood Elves both use the Light but they tap into it in different ways and treat it very differently. It would be nice if with some of these class/race combos they were called something different or the moves and abilities look slightly different but I know that’s asking too much.
I had found a thread on Reddit talking about the prey system and Astalor Bloodsworn and they were like “oh yeah when this guy started explaining what he wanted us to do I was like ‘no, no, no.’ This guy is bad news.” And like yeah, he is, his name is Bloodsworn, the Elves are a little on point with their names for some reason but my argument was it’s pretty par for the course for Blood Elves otherwise they would just be the highly sought after High Elves. This made me realize that these fantasy games need fantasy racism. Obviously racism in the real world is bad and I don’t get it at all, we’re all people, we’re all human like figure it out. Maybe that’s what we need, we need an AI or aliens to all be commonly racist towards. Anyway, in game each race almost needs a reason to hate and love them so you have a reason to fight against them and also choose them. The Blood Elves use questionable methods to have their magic wifi work but at the same time that’s kind of cool and interesting. The Forsaken have a strange need to work with plague. Dwarves want to mine the world of all its natural resources. Humans are just humans, and therefore extremely racist. I don’t quite know how you can possibly hate on Tauren except for the fact they won’t let you rape their land to build a data center. The new factions we’ve gotten recently don’t really fit in this PvP scenario, the dumb dragon people, the Earthen and now Haranir, it’s not like any of them joined either faction because they agree with that side they are just there to be playable. There was nothing like the Pandaren were given, I just ignore the other three as much as possible. But it was also brought up during a quest line with Arator, you fight a bunch offff... Dark Horde? And one of the Dwarves says something like “they’re still fighting the second war when we made peace after the forth” like we did? Oh. Why we still PvPing then?
Alright, preferred WoW Classic Plus time again. Basically I want the vanilla UI but after that I want most of the things retail has. As I’ve said in a previous post, maybe it was even my last post, I would like it to be a max level game, no leveling and basically a live service version. I mean WoW is live service in a way but like it’s just dungeons, delves, raids, new and old, on a rotation. I have faith after doing delves that Blizzard could do this and it would be interesting. I don’t mind the old talent trees, like whatever but I want to be able to have multiple saved loadouts. If I’m a class that can DPS, tank and heal then I want to be able to have at least a loadout for each. I think any class that has three DPS specs needs to have one of them changed to tank or heal. I saw something from Blizzard suggesting that a warlock tank would use magic to gain armor and use like, spell weapons but I was like “why?” In my mind demonology should be the tank class and your pet is the tank. The warlocks spells are just pet commands and if it dies then you need to run boy cause your ass is next. Or maybe as a last ditch effort you absorb the demon and use the ol’ metamorphosis. Same thing with hunters, one of the specs should be a tank spec and you play like Rexxar in Heroes of the Storm. Also, in line with my want of having loadouts for each spec, I think there’s no picking what you want to do when you are doing LFG, you just get assigned something. Five people get paired up and then it randomizes what you can do, if you can tank then you might be the tank. If you can heal then you might be the healer today. If you want to do something specific then start talking to people and make your own group. The other thing that I think should be normal, even in retail, is having a portal that takes you back to where you came from at the end of an instance. I don’t know why that’s difficult. We get some of those or they’ll warp you to the beginning of the instance, like delves, or just right outside of the instance portal. Just send me back to where you picked me up from. Please.
So yeah. People like and want to customize their characters and they want more and I get it. Druids get all kinds of love and they still desire more. The rest of us would just like SOME options. “Swole” Trolls, I’ve heard people wanting to be able to stand straight up as a Troll, I personally would like the woman, mostly of the Horde I guess, to have a little more racial characteristics that the males have. But this is why I think Blizzard needs more devs, I think they should be delivering on some of these things, all is probably unrealistic but still. The Pandaren farseer ancestors are still in T2 armor only where other races have all kinds, why is that? They’ll update the Pandaren models right before they get rid of the farseer talent tree.
That’s
it today, what do you think? What kind of things have you been waiting for in
World of WarCraft? Do you have a head cannon for your characters class that
isn’t quite the same as the in game representation? What kind of customizations
would you like to see? How do you feel about the new races and the “peace” we
have right now? I’ve been playing with war mode on and people for the most part
are relatively chill about it while questing. There will be air drops and some
shadow guy that I don’t know will tell me to get it and I go there and
sometimes there’s a scuffle and it’s fun. Seems to be a lot more
