What the Future of Monster Hunter Could Be

Image
Hello! Maybe one day I’ll have all my ideas together at one time. Probably not but you know how it is. So this is just a dream situation I guess, things I’d really like to see in Monster Hunter that will probably never come to be and some things that Proxy and I discussed. A long while ago, before Rise came out, I talked about what I’d like “ the next Monster Hunter ” to be like. That idea was probably too ambitious for the Switch but I still like the overall concept and I’ll probably refer to it once or twice.             One thing that I really liked with Generations Ultimate and Rise is the ability to select different “styles” or moves for your weapon. I almost wish it was more customizable to the point where each move, each part of the combo could be changed with two or three options. There’s some moves that I just don’t like, don’t use or because they are there, they get in my way of...

Wind Element and More

Image
Hello! Probably gonna be short, maybe. Hopefully. I just wanted to talk a little bit more in depth about wind element being added to Monster Hunter. You know, “in depth” isn’t saying much for me. My initial thought to add wind was because it’s the only common element that we don’t have in the game but I thought for like two more seconds and realized “earth” isn’t in the game either. But when I think about it earth could just be considered weapons that have raw damage only. Weapons and armor form the hardiest of monsters, Diablos, Duramboros, Uragaan, those sorts.             So as I’ve mentioned before, most of the monsters I would consider “wind based” usually have their element as water/ice (because wind can be cold and wet I guess?) or nothing at all and be put into raw damage. I know wind elements in other games tend to make the weapon hit more than once so maybe that could be the wind gimmick...

Sunbreak and Beyond

Image
Hello! Sunbreak is almost here and I can’t help but be more excited about what comes next after Sunbreak. I see things about people not liking what Rise has done, I see people saying the moves are too flashy and I’ve been seeing Capcom saying Sunbreak is a “massive expansion” but what does that mean?             To the people that think Rise is too easy or the hunts are too fast and the moves are too flashy; I think they forget that Rise was made to played on the go, get in get out sort of thing. It was made more for the Japanese, on the go lifestyle they have. I do agree that as far as hub quests go it is easier but that’s because since World they made the monsters scale with the player count. I’m not a big fan of that. I haven’t had to play with randos since Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the WiiU at it’s a little sad. I use to follow someone during GenU on Twitter who would 1v1 monsters wi...

Why Do We Like Guns So Much?

Image
Hello! I tried to do this before but I ran into a problem right out of the gate. My original question was “why are the most popular competitive games FPS’?” and my initial quick research showed that they aren’t. FPS’ make about half of the top multiplayer games when you look at Twitch or highest pay out eSports games or whatever, it’s about 50/50, even less than that because some of the games on the list are things like PlayerUnknown’s Battleground and then PUBG mobile. So my original post on this was rather short and not great to be honest so I thought I’d try again. And I’ll try not to put too much of my political opinions in here, I’m sure you can already guess where I stand if you’ve read other things I’ve written and it’s not like I have any regular readers to offend :P But there have been some YouTubers I’ve stopped watching because they’ve gotten away from their initial channel purpose and have gone more political and all it does is get me mad....

Girls With Guns

Image
Hello! My friend’s internet is out of sorts and I’m bored so here I am, just waiting for a waifu gacha shooter.             As I said in my last post I’ve been playing The Division 2 again and I’m just having trouble figuring out what is best for my builds. I had several builds just kind of randomly assorted so the other day I sat down and kind of group them up by tankyness and DPS. I’ve found that there’s no good resource online for builds and guides unless I’ve just missed it during my Google searches but I figured there’d be something like World of Warcraft. There are sites for WoW that’ll tell you the best gear, talents, spell rotation, anything you could think of but for Division it just kind of seems to be anyone’s guess. I could look at a guide for my WoW character and decide “okay, that stat is important, they say to use this talent but I don’t really like it, I like this on...

Talking About Ubisoft and Tom Clancy Again

Image
Hey hey hey. Been a while. Miss me? Ha ha ha, don’t answer that, I know the answer. Anyways, you’re probably not going to want to read this anyway. Probably just reiterating things that I’ve already said but before that I just wanted to touch on a few other things. Saw Multiverse of Madness last Wednesday and I was pleasantly surprised. With other MCU movies I’ve been subject to spoiler speculation video thumbnails on YouTube or articles on Google or Twitter but I’ve not seen any aside from the initial trailer. It was nice being surprised for once. It was much different than I thought it’d be but it was great. In other news I’m still flip flopping on the VTuber thing. I’ve got my art work done for my Aztec girl from @Andaerz and sabzdunz is doing great work on my kaiju. There are just a lot of things that come with streaming that I don’t quite have the time for right now. I also feel like I’m holding myself back from playing certain games because I t...

Xbox 360

Image
Hello! It’s been a while. I’ve been testing the VTuber thing here and there and talking with artists about my avatar and then I start thinking about “why do I even want to do this? I just want to play video games. This is so much more of a hassle. Yatta yatta.” Every time I turn around there’s something else for me to do or figure out. It’s awfully intimidating when I just plan on streaming once, maybe twice, a week. So yeah, I haven’t had much time to sit and write and there hasn’t been much I wanted to talk about but talking with my friend about older video games today gave me inspiration. I’ve talked in numerous posts about certain games I’ve liked, certain systems I’ve liked and just thought I’d touch on a few of the games I haven’t spoken much of (to my recollection). So this is going to be primarily during the Xbox 360’s life span. I loved that thing. I’m willing to say it was the best system I’ve used and I’ve talked a little about how ...
