Not E3 2026
Hello. The not E3 season has more or less come and gone. Personally there wasn’t a whole lot that got me excited, which is fine, I don’t know what it’d be like if there was a ton of games I wanted to be honest. I’m fine with a few here and there. I think that Xbox’s showcase had the most interesting things for me but I find it funny also that almost all of their games aren’t exclusive. There’s almost no reason to have an Xbox at this point, but that’s beside the point. I’m interested in the new Plague Tale game, the Doom DLC story and so far, still Fable. I’m not a huge fan of Dark Ages gameplay but from what I’ve played so far the story is interesting and the story still seems interesting in the DLC. I like the direction of Fable’s antagonist being the only hero the game needs and your character is just a joke. When she first showed up I was like “Why is she hot? Did the internet win?” I was thinking maybe it was a Crackdown kind of thing or a Yennefer thing where your character starts out objectively ugly and as you level you get more attractive. That could be fun in its own way but turned out she was the villain.
Aside from that the new Stellar Blade looks cool as hell. I didn’t play the first one but I really like the punchy-punch of this one. The Gundam game looks cool too but I don’t know if I’ll end up getting that. Nintendo didn’t really do anything for me, the games they brought up were all things I don’t typically play. I was really hoping to see some glimpses of new things, a lot of stuff were things we knew about and are coming out rather soon. I don’t understand why we need another Splatoon Raiders direct when the game is coming out next month. I was hoping to see something for the next Pokemon, Smash, 3D Mario, next proper Zelda, just anything really. Just a little taste to know they’re working on them. I mean, they ARE working on all those things, we know that but just some progress. Just something to start getting excited about. I was really shocked that there was no Mario Kart DLC talked about either. Since it’s been so long since the last proper direct I’m wondering if we’ll get another one in the fall to talk about some of these things?
I was wrong about when the Monster Hunter Wilds expansion would come out. I’m really surprised it’s not this year but oh well. I’m still not convinced by what I’ve seen yet, I have no desire to get back into Wilds. Watched Gaijin Hunter talk about the director man and how he directed Generations and Iceborne so, from a gameplay standpoint, he has made some of the more fun games but that’s still not enough. I still think I want to wait for the next one. I have Monster Hunter Stories 3 that I can tap into when I’m in the Monster Hunter mood. Not very excited to see Kushala Daora again. That just tells me that Teo and Chameleos won’t be far behind. Do they have to keep using the same elder dragons? Is the pool of “elder dragons” really that small? Make some new ones just not you know, a huge boring volcano monster.
@NEETproxy
and I have been playing Exoprimal here and there because it was cheap on Humble
Bundle. In typical Capcom fashion my progress from
That’s that I guess. Anything excite you from these directs and showcases? What are you going to be doing until some of these games come out? I’ve been in a loop of playing Metroid Dread, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Tears of the Kingdom and Octo Expansion of Splatoon 2. I like Octo Expansion and thought it would be good practice to get back into Splatoon before Raiders comes out. I was gonna try to beat Dread in under four hours for the art unlocks or whatever but I don’t think I can do it. Not right now. I don’t know the route well enough. Well, I’m gonna go try to finish Three Houses for once, I’ll see you when I see you. Bye-bye.
