What the Future of Monster Hunter Could Be

Image
Hello! Maybe one day I’ll have all my ideas together at one time. Probably not but you know how it is. So this is just a dream situation I guess, things I’d really like to see in Monster Hunter that will probably never come to be and some things that Proxy and I discussed. A long while ago, before Rise came out, I talked about what I’d like “ the next Monster Hunter ” to be like. That idea was probably too ambitious for the Switch but I still like the overall concept and I’ll probably refer to it once or twice.             One thing that I really liked with Generations Ultimate and Rise is the ability to select different “styles” or moves for your weapon. I almost wish it was more customizable to the point where each move, each part of the combo could be changed with two or three options. There’s some moves that I just don’t like, don’t use or because they are there, they get in my way of my combo when I accidentally press A one too many times. The one that comes to mind

Wind Element and More

Hello! Probably gonna be short, maybe. Hopefully. I just wanted to talk a little bit more in depth about wind element being added to Monster Hunter. You know, “in depth” isn’t saying much for me. My initial thought to add wind was because it’s the only common element that we don’t have in the game but I thought for like two more seconds and realized “earth” isn’t in the game either. But when I think about it earth could just be considered weapons that have raw damage only. Weapons and armor form the hardiest of monsters, Diablos, Duramboros, Uragaan, those sorts.             So as I’ve mentioned before, most of the monsters I would consider “wind based” usually have their element as water/ice (because wind can be cold and wet I guess?) or nothing at all and be put into raw damage. I know wind elements in other games tend to make the weapon hit more than once so maybe that could be the wind gimmick. Not be overpowered or anything just one slash of your weapon might actually h

Sunbreak and Beyond

Hello! Sunbreak is almost here and I can’t help but be more excited about what comes next after Sunbreak. I see things about people not liking what Rise has done, I see people saying the moves are too flashy and I’ve been seeing Capcom saying Sunbreak is a “massive expansion” but what does that mean?             To the people that think Rise is too easy or the hunts are too fast and the moves are too flashy; I think they forget that Rise was made to played on the go, get in get out sort of thing. It was made more for the Japanese, on the go lifestyle they have. I do agree that as far as hub quests go it is easier but that’s because since World they made the monsters scale with the player count. I’m not a big fan of that. I haven’t had to play with randos since Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the WiiU at it’s a little sad. I use to follow someone during GenU on Twitter who would 1v1 monsters with no palico support, no one else, just them and it was impressive to see them take
